This is an amazing lecture and it has way too few views! The talk covers the way biological life is organised in respect to the role of cannabinoids as biochemical balances. There are some technical terms but it is generally worded in a non-technical format which is understandable to almost anyone. :)
A new memo from the Department of Justice could threaten production of medical marijuana, even in states like California, where cultivation of marijuana for sale to people with medicinal licenses is legal. This seems to be a response to plans among marijuana growers, advocates, and even some city politicians, to create authorized commercial centers of cultivation.

Police in Florence, Alabama say a woman was arrested after her newborn baby tested positive for having marijuana in her system.
Just an idea: A licence system which people who buy or grow cannabis can obtain in order to indicate to authorities they have cannabis and will act responsibly with it. This would help stop cannabis commersialisation; it would help stop kids from using it or help find those who are supplying them; It would give protection to the user; users will start to have more respect for authority since they are no longer considered criminals; It would better use police resources to stop the real criminal elements in the cannabis industry; It would allow greater utilisation of hemp for agrculture which would increase New Zealands resource production;
Wouldn't this be a safer/ smarter alternative to continuing this idiotic drug war or complete legalisation which would be chaotic at the begining???
Today I watched the docomentry "In Pot We Trust". I thought it conveyed a strong sense of how the political system gets in the way of people (legally) having happy lives and how the whole brutal war is fought over blind asumptions.
If you want to watch it: watch it online at (no bullshit web site stuff just the film)= http://www.phillynorml.org/videos/aaf-ipwt.avi ; or find a site that can download internet videos for you (as I did, it was only 250mb approx).
We need to start 420 art days in which a group of creative individuals get together and create signs, props and utensils.
It would be ideal to start this before O week. This would mean we could start the academic year armed with visual aids for the message we are promoting.
This would not only help people identify our cause but it would show people we are organised and commited to this protest.
I will try speak to people at 420 about it and will also contact friends for assistance.
So if you are interested in being appart of 420 art day let me know by commenting on this blog or the forum I just posted about O week. Alternatively talk to me at 420 :D
Equipment:
Stirring device (for stirring on stove top); pot (idealy crok pot (definitely not aluminum!)); Fine strainer (coffee filter, cheese cloth or sieve); Bowl (fits in fridge).
Ingrediants:
Butter, prefferably pure non salted butter (the fat bonds with cannabinoids); water, prefferably pure (stops butter from burning); buds and/or other plant material (leaves/ stalks).
Proportions:
5 grams of good bud = 1/2 oz - 1 oz of plant matter (leaves and stalk).
Per 5 grams (or 1/2- 1 ounce of cab) = 250g of butter = 2 cups of water.
Directions:
1. Set the stove top to low heat and put your water in pot.
2. Place your butter in with water and let it melt together.
3. Grind up all the required plant material as fine as possible (coffee grinder ideal but scissors work just as well if you have the time)
4. Pour plant material in to pot and place lid on.
How to purify THC from leaves?
Use acetone instead of alcohol. THC is SUPER soluble in acetone - soak the ground-up leaves
in acetone, then distil it off. Best purity from any solvent I've ever tried. Next best choice is petroleum
ether. Seriously, alcohols are too H2O - soluble for really good purity - lots of other nonpsychoactive
stuff gets in the oil.
