A VIETNAMESE gang of 12 who planned to flood North Wales with £3.5m of cannabis were jailed for 32 years.
Cops uncovered eight drugs farms in rented houses across North Wales in a three month operation to smash the sophisticated drugs ring.
The plants found growing in the houses in Anglesey, Gwynedd and Denbighshire had a street value of £76,000.
But if they had not been caught the potential profit over a year was £3.5m, prosecutor Elen Owen told Mold Crown Court yesterday.
The houses were wrecked – total damage amounted to more than £100,000 – as rooms had been turned into growing areas. Two other properties at Rhosesmor and Mold were in the process of being converted into cannabis farms when police moved in.
Cannabis has been moved up from a C class to a B class drug in the United Kingdom. The UK government seems to have made a pointless and illogical decision in making cannabis B class.
